GRACELAND POLYTECHNIC HOLDS 7TH MATRICULATION CEREMONY IN GRAND STYLE
On Wednesday, April 9th, 2025, Graceland Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State, marked a significant milestone with the successful holding of its 7th Matriculation Ceremony. The event was attended by newly admitted students, staff, and distinguished guests, all gathering to celebrate academic achievements and new beginnings for the institution's incoming students.

The ceremony, held at the Polytechnic’s campus, featured an inspiring address by the Rector; Dr Lateef Olatunji who emphasized the importance of academic excellence, discipline, and personal growth. He welcomed the matriculating students into the Graceland Polytechnic family, encouraging them to focus on their studies, engage in extracurricular activities, and develop leadership qualities.

A highlight of the event was the keynote address delivered by Dr. Adetola Ariyike Salau, the Special Adviser on Education, Policy Formulation, and Human Capital Development to the Kwara State Government. Dr. Salau, an experienced educational strategist and development expert, anchored her address on the theme: “Unlocking Potential: Matriculation 2025.” Drawing from her vast experience working with state and national governments and initiatives such as the STEAM UP Kwara Bootcamp, she emphasized a three-pronged framework— "Think, Tinker, Thrive" —to help students critically approach challenges, practically apply knowledge, and scale innovative solutions. Her message resonated deeply with the audience, stressing that “potential is not a promise; it is a possibility.”

The Polytechnic's administration officially inducted students who will pursue National Diploma (ND) programs in the following fields: Accountancy, Building Technology, Business Administration, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Library and Information Science, Mass Communication, Public Health, Science Laboratory Technology (SLT), and Statistics.

The matriculating students, in a ceremony steeped in tradition, took an oath of allegiance administered by the former Commissioner for Education in Lagos State; Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo to uphold the values and integrity of the Polytechnic, pledging to maintain the highest standards of conduct and academic achievement throughout their academic journey.

This year’s matriculation ceremony holds particular significance as it coincides with the successful re-accreditation of all academic programs by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), affirming the institution’s compliance with national and international standards.

As the new students embark on their academic journey, Graceland Polytechnic remains dedicated to equipping them with the tools, resources, and mentorship needed to thrive. The institution continues to foster an environment of learning, innovation, and leadership, ensuring its graduates are prepared to make meaningful contributions to society.
